International study programmes in English
We organise English modules for incoming students in a number of study fields. Below you will see that we have quite an extensive offer, many of them are new. For the other study fields you will negotiate a suitable programme consisting of study and project assignments, often leading to a final work or thesis. Please contact the departmental coordinator.

Autumn Semester 17/9/2012 – 31/1/2013
Welcome week 12-14 September 2012
The aim of the programme is to provide participants with advanced computer courses and a range of skills that will equip them well for future professional business life.
We want to train students who:
Are able to work in a team
Are all-round and communicative
Are interested in working on real life IT projects
Have a background in programming, databases and networking
Course prerequisites:
A sound background in computer science
Applicants preferably have to be in their final year of a comparable degree programme
Intermediate level of spoken and written English (CEFR B1) confirmed by your international coordinator.
The programme comprises advanced computer courses but also a multi-disciplinary module Dealing with Global Challenges (course module for all international students at K.H. Kempen University College).
Courses are 13 weeks and last till 21st December, exams are in January.
KeyS for Teachers in Europe
Key Competences for Life-Long Learning
Together with three other Flemish University Colleges K.H.Kempen University College organizes an International Class. The class consists of 2/3 international and 1/3 Flemish students. The programme consists of a three-month period of lectures, self-study and teaching practice. In the course of the programme 20 or 30 ECTS can be obtained.
After a period in which the international students are introduced to the host city and to the Dutch language, courses in English will be organised around four themes. School-based practical experience is part of the programme.

Deadline for enrolment is October 15th! Be in time, we have a lot of candidates with 60 international institutes involved! Only 32 candidates will be accepted! It's essential that your international coordinator sends a mail to greet.cuyt@khk.be as soon as he/she is sure you will come.
Business Management
February 2012 Spring semester 6 February - end June 2012:
- Thorough study of management accounting
- Training on international business, with a focus on International Trade and European Institutions
- The practical and legal aspects of setting up an own business in entrepreneurship
- Introduction on the key Business-ICT alignment topics and Business Intelligence/Corporate Performance Management, with a hands-on project
- An elaborate marketing focus: retail marketing and shop design
- Financial analysis
- Business communication in English
- A multi-disciplinary module on Global challenges and cooperation, with additional focus on global communication (course module for all international students at K.H. Kempen University College)
- Excursions to the port of Antwerp and the European Parliament are included
- POSSIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN AN INTENSIVE PROGRAMME IN LITHUANIA.

Entrepreneurship for Starters
Entrepreneurship Project (5 ects)
This project is intended for enthusiastic students with limited knowledge of entrepreneurship. You learn how to go from a luminous idea to a real product. You start your own company with its own mission and objectives. You also examine your target audience. You learn to manage the financial aspects of the company, bring the product on the market and eventually sell it. The business plan is the result and will be presented before a professional jury. You will work together with students from the Technology department of K.H.Kempen University College (professional bachelor) and with other international students. The team you are part of, is multidisciplinary and international.
Internship (20/25 ects)
You can choose to continue the entrepreneurship project in a technical part in which you effectively build and test your product or prototype. This phase is similar to a technical internship, but in this case, in your own company.
Spring semester
International Microbiology Module (IMIB) NOT ORGANISED IN 2012
The international module in microbiology is taught in English and consists of courses and a placement in a microbiological environment. The courses will take place during 3 full weeks and later 2 days a week. The rest of the time will be practical work in a microbiological laboratory of a company, hospital, university…...
Application deadline 15 November 2011.
Five course units will be organised, a total of 30 ECTS credits can be obtained.

A multidisciplinary integration of contemporary challenges and international perspectives in professional behaviour and functioning.

Flanders Tour: International Nursing-Midwifery Programme - On Diversity and Unity
The programme consists of six themes offered at different University Colleges in Flanders.
