Health & Insurance

If you are an EU citizen insured in your country by your National Health Service, you will be covered by the Belgian health service too.  In that case you will have to obtain a European Health Insurance Card from the health service in your country and bring it with you.  We advise you to carry adequate medical insurance. 

Please check with your home institute and insurance broker which costs are covered in case of an accident or any other inconvenience.  

If you stay for more than a month at K.H.Kempen University College you are asked to fill in the "insurance and emergency form".

K.H.Kempen University takes the compulsory third party liability insurance for you for the price of approximately
€ 15 which will be paid by you on arrival. If you already have a third party liability insurance in your home institution or home country, please supply proof of this at the K.H.Kempen international office in advance (scanned copy of the policy/proof of your insurance company has to be sent to international@khk.be).

For short activities or intensive programmes: if you come to K.H.Kempen University College for a short activity or intensive programme, your home institution will have to make sure that you are sufficiently insured for the entire period of your stay at KHKempen and this 24/24, i.e. Health insurance/medical and hospital expenses and insurance for third party liability (civil responsibility). It is the responsibility of your home institution to take the necessary insurance for you as a minimal security and insurance.
